The Alvin Animal Adoption Center is a division of the Alvin Police Department. We employ three full-time Animal Control Officers, three full-time Kennel Techs, and one Shelter Manager - each of our employees is compassionate toward animals and love helping our pets find their forever home. Volunteers and sponsors always welcome.
The City of Pearland Animal Services and Adoption Center is here to protect animals and promote pet adoptions. We have a staff of 10 professionally trained people who are dedicated to serving the public and local animals.
The SPCA of Brazoria County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to leading Brazoria County to a time when there are no more homeless pets in our community. Founded in 1974, the SPCA-BC has operated the Southern Brazoria County Animal Shelter since 2003. The Shelter is an open admission facility serving the Cities of Freeport, Clute and Lake Jackson.
A stranded sea turtle is one that is found on land or in the water dead, injured, sick, or exhibiting usual behavior. One of the most well-known examples of mass strandings is when cold-stunned sea turtles strand during winter months on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts.
